About Anuk Peru

A luxurious fibre, soft as cashmere and warmer than merino, alpaca wool is an ideal material for the cooler months. We now know how these animals survive in sub-zero temperatures!

Conceived after an exhilarating holiday in Peru and inspired by the beauty and craftsmanship of the alpaca wear and boots discovered there, Anuk Peru is the collaboration of Irene Lilford and Christine Reid. What followed was that two women with no time on their hands squeezed a return trip to Peru into their calendar. Intent on finding the maker of the gorgeous boots comfortably entrenched on Christine’s feet and armed with almost no Spanish, the pair spent two weeks establishing contacts in the Peruvian Alpaca Industry..

The result was a product road test in 2009, the success of which has lead to the establishment of a shop front in Pialligo, ACT and the launch of the online shop you are now visiting. We are here in Pialligo. Our elegant range is a subtle mix of traditional Peruvian crafts coupled with the luxury and timelessness of baby alpaca. Showcasing international labels such as Sol Alpaca by Michell and leading Cuscenian label Ethnic Peru, we also introduce the Anuk Peru label. We hope that you find some garments that you love. You can be assured that they will give your many years of warmth and pleasure. And if it is just a taste of Peru that you are after, we have selected some lovely and authentic crafts and artworks from the highland regions.
