Did you know:- How to care for alpaca clothing?

You will find that your new quality clothing will provide years of durable wear.
Gently hand wash in warm water and rinse well, then wrap in a towel to remove excess water. Dry flat and reshape whilst damp.
Gentle press with steam if necessary.
Alpaca may be dry cleaned.
Do not use fabric softener or tumble dry.
Alpaca clothing provides warmth without weight….
Most of our garments are made form 100% baby fleece. This is the first clip of the shearling and provides a feather weight, downy soft fiber that is highly prized.

Alpaca is classified amongst the finest wools in the world and baby alpaca hair width falls between 18 and 22.5 microns: finer than cashmere! The unique hollow core gives it an insulating softness which makes it extremely lightweight, yet much stronger and warmer than wool. Because the fleece contains minimum lanolin it can usually be worn by people who are allergic to wool.
No alpacas were harmed in the manufacture of our products!
Peruvian alpaca is one of the South American camelids. There are an estimated 4 million alpacas in South America, with about 95% of them living in central and southern Peru.
The authentic Peruvian alpaca wool is superior to the British and Australian cousins because the animals graze at elevations of 3000 to more that 4,500 metres (about 10,000 to 15,000 feet), on the steppes of the Peruvian Andes. They thrive in temperatures which can range from minus 20 degrees to 30 degrees in one day.
Their wool is harvested by shearing before the onset of the rainy season.

The result was a product road test in 2009, the success of which has lead to the establishment of a shop front in Pialligo, ACT and the launch of the online shop you are now visiting. Our elegant range is a subtle mix of traditional Peruvian crafts coupled with the luxury and timelessness of baby alpaca. Showcasing international labels such as Sol Alpaca by Michell and leading Cuscenian label Ethnic Peru, we also introduce the Anuk Peru label. We hope that you find some garments that you love. You can be assured that they will give your many years of warmth and pleasure. And if it is just a taste of Peru that you are after, we have selected some lovely and authentic crafts and artworks from the highland regions. Our thanks go to our Peruvian partners without whose assistance we would be unable to present our beautiful and varied range of wares. Our adventure continues.

Salut!!
